Hello all,

I was playing a prank on my wife and decided to lock her out of the laptop via iCloud. She went crazy trying different pin numbers. Now all I see is a 60 infinitesimal timer and when that expires I can NOT type the pin, the boxes dont even prove up.

Bulletin on screen is "Your computer is disabled. Endeavour again in lx minutes"

Well try this ;

Do some kind of Internet Recovery by starting iMac with Cmd-Alt-R. And so y'all may face lock screen (EFI pivot lock) and enter your iCloud pin at that place. After that recovery procedure should begin and then your iMac should exist booting usually.

I forgot I fabricated a thread hither, necro update for anyone with aforementioned question in the future.

This is a characteristic on all contempo apple devices that APPLE has to set up for you, mandatory visit to the store with receipt for device to evidence ownership, lost it? well GL with that. Luckily I keep boxes of the stuff I buy and the receipt was there. I did non buy the laptop in the apple store, worstbuy(bestbuy) and I retrieve I could of gotten the recipt from my worstbuy credit carte business relationship.

Hopefully this makes it into the google results because I did not notice annihilation about this.

I stumbled over this message when I was searching as I had the same problem:

1. My MacBook Air was lost/stolen and I locked it with a pin from my iPad.

2. After more than a week I got the message that the MacBook was locked. Unfortunately you get non data on where the Mac has been online.

3. After another week the MacBook showed up, someone returned it.

four. I tried to unlock and got the message "This Mac has been locked, Effort over again in 60, 59, 58 minutes". Afterward this I got the message "Wring Passcode. Try once again".

5. But, there is no field to type in the passcode.

6. Finally the solution was: Open up findmyiphone on the iPad. select the MacBook. Information technology says "locked... volition play audio when online". On the right hand corner of the screen, there is a control to click on "remove". Hitting this the Mac is removed from the list and removed from the "lost"-status. Immediately afterwards this the fields for inbound the passcode showed up on the Mac. I assume it is as well important, that your found mac is on a location where it remembers the net lawmaking to go online. Its hidden, there is no sign that the mac went online.

vii. after inbound the right passcode the mac reboots and looks like has never been away or driveling...

viii. I also asked apple-support. they send me an information, but the steps described in that location lead to the same solution but the screen and commands there where dissimilar. And then maybe an sometime version of the helpfile.

Hope this helps fellow users. Robert.

For me this works, Merely I needed to exist logged in on icloud.com/find using different figurer at the same time in case to see the fields to enter the PIN.
As long every bit I wasn't logged in on icloud.com/observe using a dissimilar computer at the same fourth dimension, I was not able to view the field to enter the code.

Another way to clear the lx minute countdown loop

If you take the firmware code, in that location is a fashion to clear this non-functional "Your Computer is Disabled" count down screen. Either take your laptop and proof of purchase to an Apple store, plow off the firmware countersign via iCloud, or try the following:

I will endeavor hither to create a Step by Step. You will need two USB sticks.

1] On one stick create a mac OS installer using DiskMaker X (I tried it first with a High Sierra version and information technology did not work. Then I tried an older 1 I had with El Capitan and it worked) Yous will demand to google DiskMaker Ten and learn how to make this needed USB stick. If you tin't get El Capitan attempt it with a newer Bone ... possibly I made a mistake the first time in all the steps. (edit - after i succeeded I tried using the High Sierra USB stick once again and I was able to go all the way to the utilities in the basic installer window, so give Loftier Sierra a endeavour as it volition be easier to get a copy of the Loftier Sierra installer to make the DiskMaker usb stick).

ii] (I did this part on my windows auto) On the second USB stick you create a bootable USB with the rEFInd . At this web site http://world wide web.rodsbooks.com/refind/getting.html download the "A CD-R paradigm file", not the USB version. This is an ISO file. Next y'all need a USB maker, I used Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.7.7.exe which I downloaded from Cnet Downloads. Run the USB installer, at the chief window for Stride i there is a driblet down carte with lots of Linux choices, scroll to the bottom and choose "Endeavor unlisted Linux ISO". (see misc screen shots below) In Step 2 betoken to your fEFInd iso file. Then select your USB drive and click Create. During the process the installer said it failed and would not be bootable, merely I finished it anyway and the USB fEFInd stick worked.

3] Go back to your Mac, plug in both USB sticks and kicking holding the Option key down. Enter your firmware code at the lock screen. Then select the EFI kick USB stick and boot to that. So using the arrow keys select the mac Bone USB installer that yous fabricated. (see misc screen shots below) Once that is highlighted, hit the F2 central. This volition give you another boot options menu. Select "Kicking macos in Vocalist User Way". Your mac will start booting to a concluding or control line window. Wait until information technology has finished and you are at a command prompt. Then type in this succession of commands:
nvram -c
nvram -xp
nvram -c
nvram -c
nvram -c
nvram -c
nvram -xp
Yep y'all demand to articulate the nvram several times in a row, and include the -xp versions too just as shown above.
Then type in exit and expect. The laptop should continue booting in that command window until it switches over to the GUI window and you end up at the full general Bone Installer window. The installer window for El Capitan has a utilities section and the Firmware Utility is included. The utility is chosen Software Security Utility in High Sierra. I opened the Firmware Utility and turned off the firmware authentication using the lawmaking ... [at this point I was totally psyched because I had been working on this for several days, including multiple calls to Apple where they told me I had to come in with my proof of buy which I did non have anymore (2015 mac passed end of warranty) (keep your receipts!) if I wanted them to clear this result].

I and then used deejay utility to wipe the hard deejay and reinstall. I don't know what would have happened if I had simply rebooted at that point afterward turning off the firmware hallmark. I assume I could have booted into my old setup.

Skilful luck MTFBWY
